The battle of IPL media rights auction to be held on Sunday has become more interesting. According to reports, even before the auction, the company of the world’s second richest man, Jeff Bezos, has withdrawn from the Amazon race. Along with this, Google has also withdrawn its hands. It is believed that due to the withdrawal of two big companies, the scale of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance has become heavy. Now there is a tough competition between Reliance-Viacom 18, Sony, Zee and Dinny-Hotstar in the race to get IPL media rights. It is believed that BCCI can get 50 to 60 thousand crores from the auction of media rights of IPL 2023-2017. Till now the broadcasting rights of IPL were with Disney-Star.

According to reports, on June 10, BCCI received technical bids for India’s TV and digital rights from Disney-Star, Sony Pictures Networks India, Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Viacom18. At the same time, bids have also been received from Times Internet and FunAsia for the TV and digital rights of Rest of the World. At the same time, companies like Sky Sports and Supersports will also bid in the auction.

On the other hand, the big companies that have withdrawn include Amazon, Google, Airtel and Dream11. Amazon and Google did not submit technical bids on June 10, despite taking tender documents. That is, both of them will not take part in the auction.
